anyone want to play poker?

I'm leaving for Vegas Friday morning for the WPBT Winter Classic insanity-fest and poker tournament plus jokes, and I haven't had time to play much poker this week to warm myself up for the trip.

So I was about to go play some sit-n-go tourneys at PokerStars, and I realized that I can make private tourneys of my own.

So I made a private tourney at starts at 5:30 Pacific time (that will be 2030 according to the lobby clock). If enough people show up, we'll play it like a simple sit-n-go, otherwise, I'll just find some regular SNGs to play.

I always have a good time playing at PokerStars, but I'd much rather play with people I "know," you know?

So if you have time and interest, go to the PokerStars lobby and look for WWdN: Wil's Folly under tourneys -> private. The password is monkey, and the buy-in is $10 +1. It's tournament number 16141481.

Once more, the details:

What: WWdN: Wil's Folly
When: 2030 EST (1730 PST) today.
Password: monkey
Tourney number: 1614181

doh. Its like 37 mins past midnight here (uk gmt) and im just about to sleep. I think EST is 5 hours behind GMT? so that would be 1.30, which is a bit late seen as I have work in the morning.

I wouldn't have been much good anyway, other than giving you all my money! ;)

Oh.. I am there mister man!!

Damn, I wish I had seen this earlier. Have fun in Vegas!

Well, that was insanely fun. 17 in the first game, and we ended up playing a second game with 20 after that.

I got SUPER lucky to win a huge pot with the HAMMER when I flopped two pair, and lucked into a straight with QT on a steal. Ended up going out third when my presto ran into AQ and AJ, and Sam paired his jack.

Awesome time, and I'm so happy so many people played. It's great fun, like a giant homegame.

As always, it was a blast! Can't wait for the real thing later this week!

sorry...no can do this time. i've got the first Forensics meet of the year today, and i'll be gone all day...good luck in Vegas! *sends mojo*

Wil, this was great fun! I'm just happy I found out before it was too late in Ohio. I look forward to doing this again. Much luck in Vegas!

no way! my husband, sister, and brother-in-law are going to be in vegas this weekend! i'll see if they'd want to come. fun fun!

Dang. I was home early because of the weather and entered a $3 MTT (67th out of 1977 - not bad.) Shoulda checked here first.

Looks.. I got my butt kicked:

Sadly I was the suited AQ that got knocked out with/by Sam and Wheaton in the 2nd game. Oh well, tons of fun. Looking foward to more tourneys.

The Happiest Days of Our Lives

  • These are the stories Wil loves to tell, because they are the closest to his heart: stories about being a huge geek, passing his geeky hobbies and values along to his own children, and vividly painting what it meant to grow up in the ’70s and come of age in the ’80s as part of the video game/D&D/BBS/Star Wars figures generation.
