Big poker party this week at PokerStars

Happy Boxing Day, everyone!

As most of you know, I play on Team PokerStars. I'm think of myself as an ambassador to regular people who like to play online poker recreationally, (compared to the more serious hardcore players that the rest of team interacts with on a regular basis) and you'll find me at the low-limit cash tables and rarely in tournaments with buy-ins greater than $33.

I also host two No-limit Texas Hold'em tournaments at Poker Stars every week, on Tuesday nights, with a buy-in of just $11, so the game stays friendly and fun for people who don't want to invest much more than the cost of a movie ticket for to play. I've been doing it for just over a year, now, and the regulars who play in it (including myself) call it "the world's biggest home game," because it has that feeling of just sitting around a table in someone's garage, playing cards with your friends.

Well, this week, Poker Stars is celebrating its five year anniversary, and all week long, we're doing cool stuff to give back to the players who have made PokerStars the epic success it is today.

I listed all the different promotions in a post at Card Squad, but I wanted to point out the Team PokerStars freeroll tourneys that we're having. Check it out:

Throughout the fifth anniversary celebration, Poker Stars will host five $1,000 freerolls every day with 10 Frequent Player Point buy-ins. We'll also run one $5,000 freeroll every day with a 50 FPP buy-in. There's a very good chance you'll find one or more of your favorite Team PokerStars members in the field of players. If you knock out a Team PokerStars player, PokerStars will award you a free entry to a $215 Sunday Million tournament.

Cool, isn't it? For as little at 10 FPP (that's frequent player points, which you get whenever you play a hand) you can play with me and maybe get yourself a free seat in the Sunday tournament, which typically pays out six figures to the winner. Yeah, you read that right. Crazy, isn't it?

I'm playing in a whole bunch of the Team PokerStars tourneys, so if you want to come and take a shot at me, here's my schedule (times are Eastern Standard):

So I'm having a big old poker party (like a pants party, but with cards) this week. In addition to the tourneys I've listed above, you'll be able to find me on some low-limit cash tables, and probably a few smallish tournaments (you can search for my name in the Poker Stars Lobby; just go to Requests -> Find Team PokerStars Player . . . and choose my name. If I'm on the site, it'll tell you where to find me.)

There's also the WWdN tourneys tonight. They start at 8:30 Eastern, and you can find them under Tourneys -> Private in the lobby. Search for "WWdN" and register with the password, which is always "monkey."
