beware the duck of doom!

So it turns out that a few of you are Munchkin Afficionados.

The first parody cover comes from my friend Chris Hanel, co-host of the fantabulous Geekza show:

Next, we have this little beauty from WWdN reader Clay:

Thanks, guys! I was out driving all over Los Angeles (and by driving, I mean parking on the 110) so this was quite a nice surprise to find in my inbox when I got home.

If anyone else has an entry of their own, link it in the comments and I'll update this entry for the RSS-o-trons.

Glad it made with the smiling! It sure beat the hell out of doing laundry this morning. Of course now the pile is just glaring at me...

Heh heh... I saw Shatner amongst the covers, and at that moment... I knew what I must do.

Thanks for the nod! :)

Oh, if I only had talents with PhotoShop. Oh, if only I had PhotoShop.

That being said, I probably wouldn't have been able to come up with something funny. The one line on the cover with you about "Getting Women using Hygiene" slays me.

I totally lug it! Now, if I only knew what the hell you were talking about.

Ya know Wil I really really could have done without the Shatner Pic...

Other than that the post was great...

hahahaha...

Everytime I read/hear the word munchkin I get "Singer In The Woods" by Z in my head:

Don't cha want to
punch my munchkin baby!
I got a hunchkin
You wanna punch me....

That said, question time. Just read your books and wondered why you don't film a couple of your funny sketches and toss 'em out on YouTube so people can see what a comedic actor you are?

Thanks for the laugh, this morning! I love all of the covers, but I think the "cigar & Munchkin aficianado" cover takes the cake, or the cigar, I guess. What would be really fun is if the Munchkin was holding an EXPLODING cigar! Is there such a weapon in any of the sets? It would be a great addition to the "Clown Wars" expansion (I just checked; there's not one in there.) "The Exploding Cigar IN SPACE: Play during any combat. +5 to either side. Usable once only." ;) Man, I need to get my husband to take some time after work and play!

Never pick up a duck in a dungeon!

Hilarious!!! I can't wait to see what others come up with. I gotta get me some PS skills!

Wish I had time to craft something from scratch... but it was a fun work-avoidance project, nonetheless. 8)

Work avoidance... Yes, I'm afraid that's my motivation too. Oops.

Speaking of being a total geek (meaning me), I had to point out that Clay misspelled "frakking" on his mag cover.

Sadly, all the people I know that are into these things are no where near me, so I dont play :(.

That doesnt mean I didnt get these last couple of posts.
Funny.

Wil, there's a brief reference to you and your blog over at Jalopnik today.

Hey, Wil
If you or anyone else is in or around Columbus, Ohio on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of every month, you should come check out the board game club I belong to. With 80+ gamers at most every meeting, and several hundred games in the club's library (including several Munchkin permutations), you're sure to find a game of whatever you're in to at the moment. Check out our website for more info.

Hey Wil,

Aldie at BoardGameGeek is requesting your e-mail address. He wants to invite you to BGG.CON as a special guest. You can find out more at http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/157626

I hope you accept. I wish I could go. It's a con that's all about enjoying games in a really friendly atmosphere.

Steve

It's Shatner's birthday today!

Let's eat cake!

I parked on the 110 this weekend. Sadly, it wasn't nearly as interesting as the parking I did as a teenager.

The Happiest Days of Our Lives

  • These are the stories Wil loves to tell, because they are the closest to his heart: stories about being a huge geek, passing his geeky hobbies and values along to his own children, and vividly painting what it meant to grow up in the ’70s and come of age in the ’80s as part of the video game/D&D/BBS/Star Wars figures generation.

Buy Just A Geek: The Audiobook

  • "This journey is a fascinating read, made even more intimate and fulfilling by Wil's narrative. This is not just an audio book, it's a glimpse into the psyche of the man who considers himself . . . Just a Geek."
