pirates are absolute divine beings
Oh noes! Teh religious persecutions!!1
Student punished for spaghetti beliefs
A student has been suspended from school in America for coming to class dressed as a pirate. But the disciplinary action has provoked controversy – because the student says that the ban violates his rights, as the pirate costume is part of his religion. Bryan Killian says that he follows the Pastafarian religion, and that as a crucial part of his faith, he must wear 'full pirate regalia' as prescribed in the holy texts of Pastafarianism.I think this is the first time in the history of the internets that linking an article doesn't really do it justice, so take a moment and enjoy the pictures and serious tone of TFA, which dryly ends with this: "The school, in North Buncombe, North Carolina, remains adamant that their decision to suspend Killian for a day has nothing to do with his
religion, and quite a lot to do with his repeated refusal to heed warnings against wearing pirate outfits."

It's the image half-way down of Jack Sparrow, captioned "A man in full pirate regalia", that makes it art...

So I wonder when exactly we will see the effects of "Pirates of the Carribean" on our global atmosphere. It should be getting better, right? Johnny Depp can save us all!!

Ha! "spagnostic", that is comedy gold. BTW I have actually met someone who usually wears "full pirate regalia", at least when he goes out drinking on the weekends.

I once was a pirate ship for halloween. Most people expect just a pirate, but no no. I was the ship carrying a shipment of rum.
But seriously, they're just jealous that he thought about it first before they did. Perhaps the near future will be full of pirate inspired fashions.

I suspect he would get much sympathy from the Gypsies...people don't think they exist either!

Not nearly as bad as this poor kid who was not allowed to wear a kilt to his school dance ...

Sadly, the persecution of pasta-based beliefs goes back as far as the fall of the Ramen Empire.

Down here in the nether regions (Tallahassee) of the country (and yes, to the dirty-minded Florida looks like "nether regions") we have a pirate band: The Alaskan Pirate and His Salty Seamen
You should check 'em out.
Maybe they could be choir directors for the Pastafarian Church (or boat, or dinghy, or whatever they want to call it).

Wow, proof that the FSM has outlived the Intelligent Design "debate" it was evoked to mock. Things can go anywhere from here.
This reminds me that I meant to get a FSM Jesus fish for the car...

I dont know whether to be really really amused or slightly ticked. Damn.
Though I do know a handfull of people local to the area (sorta...Asheville is in Buncomb), I should bug them for to see what they think.

How deviously discordian! Does that make Johnny Depp a prophet? Is the WWJDD tee shirt far behind?
