this blows
I think that, if it's possible, I may be reading too much Warren Ellis and listening to too much Tool, and it's awoken my inner wannabe Spider Jerusalem: I go from zero to "I'm going to stomp your fucking guts out" much faster than usual, it seems.
The wind is blowing like crazy (notice how I didn't say "5 dollar Bangkok whore") today, and it's forcing eleventy billion metric tons of misery-inducing oak and pine pollen into my body.
I really want to shove the goddamndamndamn wind into a corner and stomp its fucking guts out.

"too much Tool"
What is this blasphemy you speak?!
Seriously though, I think Tool is one of only a half-handful of artists I can listen to continuously without getting sick of them.

Ah, a fellow allergy sufferer. I know thy pain.
/me is rubbing the tearies and itchies out of his eyes to enable viewing of this blog, as we speak.
Thank Buddha for anti-histamines.

I live in Pasadena too, I'm sitting at my window, beyond which is my driveway, beyond which are a pair of oak trees. There are pollen pods of said oak trees literally being blown into little cyclones outside. And I'm in agony.
Plus the trees are no doubt stressed because it forgot to rain this year here and so they're really cranking out the pollen.
Hide.

Something to distract you:
You're #3 on the "Best Celebrity Bloggers" choice awards
Ironically, I read both yours and Rosie's blogs (she's #2). I think you can take her ;)
Ross the Intern is #1. You can totally beat him too!
Go for it! :)

The pollen reminds me of the use of nasal passages long forgotten...

I really want to shove the goddamndamndamn wind into a corner and stomp its fucking guts out.

Dude, is the world ending? It's so gross and crazy down here in Hollywood-- I haven't been outside for over an hour and I'm still trying to get the dirt out of my eyes, nose, and mouth. And what's left of the Transformers building ad at Sunset and Vine is a sight to behold... pieces of it flying everywhere.

Allergies suck.

I apologize if someone previously pointed this out. I've been trying ALL DAY to make this comment. My web site is down, Flickr was down, TypeKey was having trouble emailing me my password.
Computers......yuck....

It's bad enough in Northridge. the weather channel says gusts of wind up to 45mph, slightly higher in the canyons.
Riiight. I lived in LC for two years- good luck with that. (I swear I was blown over while riding my bike up Briggs at least twice...) ;)

I'd suggest you take a little vacation from the allergies, but it's no better here in the northwest. It's pretty outside, but I'm anticipating the yearly pollen-wind very soon here. My only consolation is that the cherry trees will soon blossom into little popcorn-buds. Take some Sudafed and/or Claritin.

I don't think it's possible to have too much of either of those
Stomp the wind's guts out. It has it coming. Or take a Benadryl. It has a surprisingly mellowing effect. You'll feel less stompy. Really.

I have to agree with the first commenter. There's no such thing as "too much Tool".

A whole eucalyptus tree came uprooted at Caltech - pretty impressive. Not super surprising that it was that kind of tree, admittedly, but still pretty massive looking on the ground.

Well no allergies for me for now, cause guess what? It's fucking snowing! Mid-April and 3 inches of fresh snow on the ground. Of course it means there's no such thing as global warming. This sucks.
PS: Who the Hell is Ross the Intern?

I feel your pain, Brother Wheaton. We're getting blown all to hell out here in Tucson, which means the neighbor;s gate is flopping back and forth and banging with the regularity of a ten buck hooker, dust devils are shooting back and forth, and everything in the house in coasted with what should be a fine patina of dust but is instead a thick grey coat of crap. My nose is stuffy, my eyes are sticky, and my fingertips turn black when I play keyboard. Cleaning house is gonna be feckin' aggravating.
I suggest getting some kind of ionizer unit -- the kind with a nice HEPA filter so the crud doesn't end up sticking to the walls.

Horribly difficult Mario Bros., to the point where it's so painful to watch that you can't look away. . .
Maybe all the cool geeks have seen it already, but it was new to me. ^_^

You want wind? How about coming to Chicago for a blustery, snowy, Springtime in April day?
Posted by:elal | April 12, 2007 at 06:05 PM
Some days life makes little to no sense...
Then it's your 13th anniversary, you've had a pitcher of margaritas, and watched 300 in the theatre.
And you realize in your semi-loaded stupor...
...it all makes sense after all.

I effing hate my allergies right now too.
And I do believe you indeed did say the bit about the $5 trollup.

2 weeks ago Atlanta was BAD. I don't recall a lot of wind, but the counts were around 5,000/cubic meter. My husband had to clean off his windshield so he could see through it- his normally dark green car was yellow. It even got out that the police were having trouble getting car thief fingerprints because of the pollen. If you have allergies at all, I'd avoid Atlanta this time of year- or at least check before you come!

The wind does the same thing to me here in Indiana. On top of that, Mother Nature can't decide if it is suppose to be sunny/rainy/snowy, so the extreme temperature differences just make me want to hibernate while clutching my box of Sudafed.

Laughed till I cried at "wouldn't you be breaking wind".
Good news :) Weather here is LOVELY, no dust, pollen, only a light breeze. I feel relly, really bad for you all :) (No. I do, really, Fellow sufferer but mine is triggered by Night Scented Stock and some tree pollen)

Wil: I really want to shove the...
Can I help?
...this is my second year in a new city, so I'm waiting for the allergy shoe to drop, but it hasn't (...yet). But my best friend/roommate is allergic to approximately 1/3 of everything, so I can relate your pain to seeing her get her anaphylactic on.
Wil, trade you immune systems? Mine is quite healthy, enough to give the blood bank regular deposits, and no allergies, except to contact with wool. :)
