Buy The Happiest Days of Our Lives

  • These are the stories Wil loves to tell, because they are the closest to his heart: stories about being a huge geek, passing his geeky hobbies and values along to his own children, and vividly painting what it meant to grow up in the ’70s and come of age in the ’80s as part of the video game/D&D/BBS/Star Wars figures generation.

it's life, Jim, but not as we know it

Mr. Schlock ID Tag My mom saved pretty much everything from the old Star Trek days, from scripts to call sheets to promotional materials. I thought I threw it all away when I was sixteen or seventeen, but she told me a year or so ago that she dug it all out after I was done, because she thought I'd want it some day.

She was right. I'm really glad she kept all these things from my youth, and I'm doubly glad that she's been turning them over to me, bit by bit, for the last several months.

Today, I came across a bag filled with things from 1987-1989, and scanned some of the them to share here.

I'll begin with this official UFPI ID badge for Mr. Schlock, who was last seen on Earth in 1987, losing badly in a game of Star Trek Jeopardy.
