Since Random Friday worked out so well, it's Random Monday . . .
I'm so far behind on Sopranos, the last episode I watched was when Carmella moved back in with Tony. What was that, three years ago?
Do you have any idea how hard it is to avoid Sopranos spoilers, especially when you write for a TV Blog?
Speaking of TV Blogs, I'm doing another TNG review this week. I wanted to be back on the bi-weekly schedule, but working on the TNG documentary, Legion, and InDigital sort of made that unpossible. Hey, want to know a secret? I'm collecting all the reviews I've done and putting them together in a limited-edition chapbook to sell at the big Vegas convention in August.
Speaking of InDigital, there are a a few new episodes since I last mentioned there were new episodes. In episode 15 I reviewed a GPS receiver that I really liked, and made some pretty amusing "vroom vroom" noises. In episode 16, I checked out a planetarium that you hold in your hand while looking at real stars (instead of projections on a dome.) In episode 17, we all looked at a Linux-based media player called the MVix, that I actually own already.
We're getting good feedback about our shows in the InDigital forum, and as far as I know the network likes what we're doing, as well. Hahn told me last week that our downloads have been through the roof lately. Apparently, we've added more new viewers than any other show on the network. Go us!
I watched HERO yesterday for the first time. For some reason, I missed it when it was in theaters, which I hope to rectify during a revival showing at some point in the mysterious future. I thought it was beautifully shot and acted, and the score is magnificent. It's not a film for everyone, but I sure liked it.
Today's Penny Arcade is genius.
