the oneups
Somehow, I managed to entirely miss The OneUps when I was at PAX.
After listening to some of their music, I have decided that I FAIL. What the Minibosses do for game music with rock, the OneUps do with jazz, and it's spectacular.
Check them out. They are insanely awesome.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh William. You sly devil you.

Huh?
I'm all for being sly, but I'd like to know how and why it applies here.

Wil, you should check out Kyle Eastwood's music. The dude is a Jazz master. Yep, he's son of Clint Eastwood.

I'm wondering if you have listened to The Advantage then? They too are game music. And they have some shows in LA this coming week. Advantage were the first band I ever listened to in regards to gaming music. And The OneUps are definitely quite talented.

Yay for the OneUps, and I <3 the new tagline on your blog!

Haha I didn't even notice the new tagline until just now. Pretty awesome. I think I'm gonna check out The OneUps especially since I just realized I have absolutely no real geeky music.

Um...off topic but I wanted to make sure everyone saw this article:
Sex Quenches Thirst of Female Beetles.
I don't know whether to be disgusted or intrigued.

It's also great that the OneUps sell their CD's as non-DRM MP3's through Snocap. I love their Xenogears Light and Time & Space (Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Xenogears) CD's.
In a similar vein, check out the Spoony Bards too. These guys do a 20-minute Mario medley on piano, and do vocal songs too (lots of Squaresoft end credit songs)

Oh the fail! I love the OneUps. Their funk set is just awesome, and as good as their CD is, they are even better live.
