propelled!
I'm working like crazy to get this Angel One review finished today so I can get started on some other (awesome) stuff that's been bouncing around in my brains.
Until I have something new and interesting of my own to talk about, I'd like to share some really cool links I've found while Propelling in the last 24 hours:
Gordon Freeman crank calls Coast to Coast AM
Video Games – A theoretical physicist named "Gordon" called up the conspiracy wonks at Coast to Coast AM to tell 'em all about a mysterious government agent -- a "G-Man" if you will -- that he keeps seeing around. Lots of fantastic Half Life and Portal jokes for those who can read between the lines, here.
Marching band's classic video game themed halftime showPopular Videos – In this video, the UC Berkeley marching band performs a video-game-themed halftime show, playing the beloved themes from such old friends as Tetris, Zelda, Mario Brothers and others, all the while marching in animated formation and reenacting scenes from the
game. Bravo! [via boingboing]
The History of 'It' Girls (And Their Predictable Downfalls)Celebrities – History has no dearth of young women who, once thrust into the limelight, manage to screw things up in astounding, stupefying ways. From extremely public and scandalous affairs to drug addiction to homelessness, It girls through the ages have been there, done that, and few have lived to tell the tale.
Now, it's back to Angel One, where -- contrary to what you've read in travel guides -- they're not as into the snu-snu as they once were.

Hey Wil - I am sure you don't care about this, and it has absolutely nothing to do with this blog, but didn't know where else to post it - but there is a picture/post on you at the freakshow known as perezhilton.com. ?! Not where I would ever expect to find anything about you, it was hilarious seeing you there. He had nothing bad to say, said you are still looking good (and yes, you are.) Just thought it was funny.
PS - Could you do a book signing in the SF Bay area? Pretty please??

Yeah, when my friend told me I was on the Perez Hilton blog, I braced myself for the worst.
It was a very nice surprise that to discover that my preparations weren't necessary.

Hey, I just saw the new Retarded Policeman video. Nice Job Wil! Are you going to be making more videos with Greg?

Hilarious. I've loved everything Mediocre has put out, and that one is damed good.

Yeah, Greg and I used to do sketch comedy together at ACME. His wife, Kim, and I have written together for ACME, too.
I love Mediocre Films (Greg Talks to God is one of my all-time faves) and I though I find the title a little . . . off-putting . . . I love Retarded Policeman.
Ponce is a fantastic person, who refuses to be a victim of Down Syndrome, and genuinely loves performing. I had a great time working with them, even though I kept cracking up and ruining takes.

Found this video that I was sure you would very much enjoy. It's Jerry O'Connell doing his Tom Cruise video spoof. One of the funniest things I've seen.

I love the marching band video. I showed it to my brother (the biggest gamer I know) and he thinks whoever choreographed this must have been a true geek with too much time on his hands. I loved it.
So when do you plan on posting the Angel One review?

The "Gordon" caller video made me laugh out loud. Especially the end "Portal technology... wow... just like in Contact" Ah, that's just comedy gold.

Hooray for video game related links! Now if only I could find some time to play some!

That Cal vid was amazing. I went to the Alamo Bowl over the holidays, and I wish I could have seen something that cool live.
