Gorgeous Tiny Chickens, Batman, and the Happiest Media Kit

I guess it's appropriate that I'm a computer geek, because I have a very binary lifestyle: my level of work is either 0 or 1, with nothing in between.

I'm currently set to 1, so my time to post is very limited (though I've been using Twitter like crazy, because it's fast, immediate, and portable.)

However, I wanted to take a moment and share three things for your pleasurable enjoying.

1. I did an episode of Gorgeous Tiny Chicken Machine Show last week. I don't know when it will be released, but I saw an edit of it last night that is hilarious.

2. I got permission from James Tucker, producer of Batman: The Brave and the Bold, to tell the world that I worked on the show Monday. I can't say anything about the content of the episode or the character I play -- apparently, it's a Darth Vader-is-his-father kind of secret -- but it was massively fun, and since I'm one of the world's biggest Batman Geeks, it was kind of a dream come true.

3. I can't believe how many orders of Happiest Days were recently placed! I guess I should run out of printings more frequently. Many of you asked for a media kit, like the one I did for Dancing Barefoot. Well, here's the Happiest Days of Our Lives media kit. Please download it and use it; it's under a Creative Commons license, so I encourage you to get crazy go nuts with it.

According to wikipedia, the new Batman show will focus on the Dark Knight teaming up with various members of the DC universe. I think that make it pretty obvious that you were cast as "guy who teams up with Batman."

Which actually sounds like a very cool role.

Yesssssssss! No kidding, I shouted out across the house when I saw the confirmation on your doing GTCMS. I got faked out last week by previews for episode 5 -- when much of a guy's face is obscured by a Cownicorn suit, it's a lot harder to distinguish even a famous face -- and narrowly avoided the embarrassment of wrongly announcing your GTCMS debut, only because posting just wasn't working right on that computer. (Whew!) I know that Kim Evey's Facebook status indicated she was editing episodes 9 and 10 last weekend, so it may well be one of those, though it was unclear whether she meant #10 in the total lineup of 12, or the tenth of the new episodes.

For the uninitiated, you might want to go to YouTube and subscribe to Cspot's channel now so that you'll get notification each Friday when the new episode goes up. The original channel, Mediocre Films, also has a lot of hilarious video made by the same folks, so you might check that out too. (I don't claim to be impartial, having gone to school with the director. :)

In other news: Thanks so much to the poster last Friday who mentioned using his PayPal balance to pay for his copy of Happiest Days... I was due for a payment in the format of my choice from a survey company, and your comment totally settled the question. Just ordered my copy and can hardly wait the 2-4 weeks it will take to get to Dallas.

Re: Numb3rs -- "Ultra World" episode broadcast on Australian network tv last nite... Wil Wheaton's character was so retro OTT Joan "Alexis" Collins Dynasty-esque. Or, put another way, the guy which Wil portrayed -- Miles Sklar, comic book creator and world-class douche -- appeared frighteningly like a Perth-born GenX Oz gay male -- a narcisistic tosser who loves money and power...

The cultural depiction was spot on -- a mewling spoiltbrat tactically manipulating all around for his exclusive benefit. Yes, even the "kind act" which Wil's character displayed at the close of "Ultra World" was cynically geared to maximize work and future investments. Wil, as a professional working actor, have you closely studied the West Australian GenX gay male psyche as a template for the Numb3rs character!?!

Primarily, I think wil just ignored his own "don't be a dick" advice for the role.

This is really amusing (or moderately, at least) because I was just talking to my family about my ultimate dream: producing/writing a live-action television series that primarily follows Tim Drake. It's one of those pipe-dreams that keeps me going when I'm sad. Anyway, I've always said that you were my ideal choice for Edward Nigma (and Kate Mulgrew for Leslie Thompkins). We were watching Trekkies and my brother mentioned this blog. And then, when I got here, I saw a post about you voicing a character in Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
