See me at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books

As I mentioned in the Great Geek Tour of 2008 post, I'll be appearing at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books on Sunday, April 27. The festival is at UCLA (go Bruins!) and runs all weekend.

If you'd like to meet me, shower me with praise and tell me how charming and suave I am, here are some details I just got from Mysterious Galaxy, who are letting me ghetto up their booth:

Booth #614
Dickson Court North
2:00 PM Sunday April 27

Authors: Charlie Huston, Kevin J. Anderson, Rebecca Moesta and Wil Wheaton

Signings will last approximately 50 - 55 minutes.

All three of my books will be available, and there will be punch and pie.

(There will actually be no punch or pie.)

Robert,
I'm an atheist. Can I have your pie? :)
Q

Hi Wil:

Just thought you might be interested in a pretty cool event happening at Cal Poly Pomona (I work there) - it's a Wireless Telecommunications Symposium, and it takes place April 24-26. Len Kleinrock (a "father of the Internet") will be there, among others. Check out the speakers, etc. at http://www.csupomona.edu/~wtsi/speakers.htm - It's not cheap, but there are options for people who just want to attend part (the Queen Mary reception or the Kleinrock dinner)...it's for professionals and academics - there are "learning" components and talks about the future of wireless communications - and then there is also time to just party! I know a lot of people are pretty excited about it! - if you or anyone else wants to attend, just register online or call the number on the website. I hope to see you there!
Best wishes.

Wanted to go, but Life intervened. Hope it's going great!

The Happiest Days of Our Lives

  • These are the stories Wil loves to tell, because they are the closest to his heart: stories about being a huge geek, passing his geeky hobbies and values along to his own children, and vividly painting what it meant to grow up in the ’70s and come of age in the ’80s as part of the video game/D&D/BBS/Star Wars figures generation.

Buy Just A Geek: The Audiobook

  • "This journey is a fascinating read, made even more intimate and fulfilling by Wil's narrative. This is not just an audio book, it's a glimpse into the psyche of the man who considers himself . . . Just a Geek."
