Contact

So you want to get in touch, eh?

Okay, that's cool.

The best way to interact with me is via comments on my blog, but if you're set on e-mailing me, you've come to the correct place. Before you e-mail, here are a couple of things I'd like you to know:

  • Please, please understand that I have a limited number of hours in my day, and I have certain priorities in my life that usually eat them all up, like my family and the mountain of writing commitments I have to support them. If you email me, know that I will read it, but it's very unlikely that you'll get a quick response, if at all. It's nothing personal, it's just a consequence of my own limitations.
  • Before you email, please read the FAQ and search my blog archives. Pretty much everything anyone would want to know is in there, somewhere.
  • Don't ask me to send you signed pictures or anything like that. I simply don't have time to do that sort of
thing, though I do occasionally sell signed books.
  • Please use a descriptive subject line.
  • If you're an AOL subscriber, I can't respond to you. AOL has blacklisted my mailserver since May of 2007, and refuses to unblock me, despite numerous attempts to convince them that I'm not a spammer. The funniest part? Some very helpful AOL employees e-mailed me to offer some help and support . . . and all my replies bounced. Thanks to the efforts of several AOL employees, I can now freely communicate with AOL members everywhere once again. Awesome!

It's not essential, but I prefer to receive mail that is encrypted, or at the very least, digitally signed. You can learn more about crypto and email at The GNUPG website, or at the Red Hat GNUpg page.

The Happiest Days of Our Lives

  • These are the stories Wil loves to tell, because they are the closest to his heart: stories about being a huge geek, passing his geeky hobbies and values along to his own children, and vividly painting what it meant to grow up in the ’70s and come of age in the ’80s as part of the video game/D&D/BBS/Star Wars figures generation.

Buy Just A Geek: The Audiobook

  • "This journey is a fascinating read, made even more intimate and fulfilling by Wil's narrative. This is not just an audio book, it's a glimpse into the psyche of the man who considers himself . . . Just a Geek."
